After serving as an avionics technician in the U.S. Navy, John Mulhern III attended Drexel University, receiving a BS in Information Systems with concentrations in artificial intelligence, database development, and human interface design.
John has worked at the University of Pennsylvania for almost 30 years. He is currently Principal Technology Advisor, a role in which he focuses on the future computing needs of everyone from first-year students to emeritus faculty members.
John has published three books under the J3Studio Press imprint. The first was A 21st Century Road Trip, which was released in 2006 and chronicles a 2005 trip on Route 66 and the Pacific Coast Highway in a Corvette convertible. The second was Lincoln Highway 101, which chronicles a 2014 trip on the Lincoln Highway in a 1985 Corvette coupe. The first edition was published in 2014, with the second edition being published in 2018. The third was Slightly Slower 66, which was released in 2016 and describes a 2015 trip along Route 66 in a Corvette coupe.
John is an NCRS Master Judge and writes a fairly active blog on eighties vehicles, which can be found at eightiescars.com He’s also a member of the Society of Automotive Historians.
John resides in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania with his lovely wife Ivelis, and his beloved Corvettes: Lauren, Grace, and Louis.
